Heh! They had had a three-course lunch with me and coffee afterwards already, SealPoet!

And that's, why they are working so properly!

I was just wondering about this. It's 8:30am here (7:30am Boston time) and it's been slow for about an hour now, but it seems to be getting better.

Wednesday- 6:15 AM E.S.T.. When I first got on, at around 6, A2K was very speedy. At 6:15, I noticed a slight slowness, but nowhere near as bad as a few days ago.

6:25 Slowed to a crawl. Ended up having to leave a thread and go onto another site, it was so slow. Seems better by 6:35.

7:03 Another slowdown

satt_focusable- Network speed might come into play, but not in the case for which I wrote this thread. When A2K is slow, I always check on other sites to determine whether the fault is the ISP or A2K.

If you look back in the thread, Craven spoke about his servers doing "housekeeping" during the times of the slowdowns. He has probably adjusted those times. 'cause the site is just zipping along today!

On my (local) computer, I always clear log files around 0:30 of my system time, when it is supposed that only a few processes are running.

Glad it worked, I was up very late working on it.

So now I at least know what it was.

A2K was a bit creepy at 6:45 AM EST. Checked again at 7:19 AM EST, and it was crawling. Seems ok now though.

Yesterday, while looking for stuff for the Portal, I could not get into a couple of the lyrics sites. I kept getting messages that the sites had too much traffic, and I should try later. Today they are ok. Does this have anything to do with the worm that is going around?

That's probably me beating the daylights out of the hamsters. I'm having some really frustrating errors on some really big tasks (that take a lot of server resources).

Anywho I gotta go to bed now so it should be fast from here on out.

Can you tell us some of the status these days for A2k?
