I have noticed something. I am on A2K early in the morning. On the days that I have been REAL early (6 AM E.S.T) A2K is abominably slow. I mean that it creeps. I have cable, and I am talking of speeds slower than dialup. At around 6:30, it is back up to speed again.
Any explanation for this?
I occasionally get times when a shortcut has to be clicked 5 times before it will work. 5 minutes later it's fine.
So am I, Phoenix. Very slow in the morning.
I'm pretty slow in the morning, myself.
And 6:00 to 6:30 AM e.s.t. is my best window of opportunity...
Thanks for posting, Phoenix. Craven? You out there?
('course at that time of day I certainly hope the Cravemiester is catching some shut-eye!)
Didn't have any difficulties here .... neither at mine nor at your morning.
Hmm, it means that you east coasters are catching too many scheduled tasks (log deletion, portal building, link validation...).
I'll have to move them earlier and try to stagger them a bit more. Making them start at midnight my time is catching y'all right when you wake up.
I'll leave this thread open so that I can get feedback on it. If you guys can try to report precise times of slow behavior over a few days it will help me pin point exactly what process is hogging resources.
Since there are at least 3 main nightly tasks for the hamsters I might need some help pin pointing which one is causing the slowdown, as SP notes I am asleep then.
Cool. Haven't noticed any problems in Mountain Time Zone, btw.
Yeah, I figure it's the 3AM EST slot that's problematic.
If anyone notices when on the hour it starts it'll help, as I have various maintenance tasks scheduled for different minutes of the hour.
I didn't notice that at 3 AM EST - was fine here as usually.
Can anyone let me know if 02:46 PST sounds about right? 15 minutes before or afterward fit within one of the tasks' time frames as well.
Edit: when I said EST I meant PST.
Mush! You Hamsters, Mush!

Well, and I wondered ...
Wasn't online at that time.
Craven- I will keep an eagle eye out, and report anything that I encounter.
Spoke too fast. It's 6:15, and things have slowed down, although nowhere as bad as yesterday.
By 6:30, everything seemed back to normal.
Them California hamsters is kinda mellow...
I didn't have any trouble at the same time, and I've got dialup.
