An off-duty Near North District Chicago Police Officer was dressed up in full clown costume and clown face makeup for a day-care fundraiser event last night at 87th and Damen. Upon exiting the event a teenage thug armed with a handgun attempted to mug the clown. The police officer, still dressed up as a clown, wrestled the gun out of the thugs hands and shot the Chicago thug to death with his own gun.
