I'm thinking of buying a HP from a Canadian seller, I live in the US. So it would have to go through customs. I suspect there will be a tax, but it doesn't look like there should be a duty since HP is made in the US. But does anyone know what the tax would be?
I really don't need an exact number, I mean if anyone happens to know how I can look it up exactly, that would be cool! But if you just have a guess that would help me out a lot!
I think the computer is covered by the free trade agreement. It actually maybe just covered as a blanket statement for all computers; but even if it isn't covered that way, because it was made in North America (U.S.A actually), I think it's also covered.
It might be! I looked at Best Buy who has subsidiaries in Canada - they
ship to the U.S. without any additional taxes applied. However, you might
have issues with registration, warranty and software later on...

@MrIVI,
Does anybody have any experience with Brokerage Fees? If I ship USPS they say they'll charge brokerage fees, but they won't even give me an estimate of what they will cost! I'm not going to agree to pay a price which is unknown.
How much money are you allegedly saving by making this overly complicated purchase rather then buy the computer directly from the manufacturer in the first place?
Besides why would you foolishly want an HP anyway? What kind of HP are you looking at?
