David Horowicz's speech at UCLA

http://frontpagemag.com/2011/05/24/confronting-the-anti-israel-jihad-on-campus/

Very long article but worth reading

excerpt:

Quote:

... The conservative students I talked to earlier today can only identify three or four conservatives out of hundreds of faculty members in the liberal arts division, all of whom are in the closet.

In the nation outside the university, the division between self-identified conservatives and so-called liberals (I don’t like to call people who are fundamentally intolerant “liberal”) is fairly even, give or take the seasonal swings of independents in the middle. But university faculties are practically conservative-free. How does that happen? Well, it happens as a result of the largest, longest and most successful blacklist in the history of this country....

@gungasnake,
Thanks for the link. Although I'm an independent, I'm forced to agree with David Horowitz on this one. Preventing others from expressing their views is cowardly and pathetic. Why is the NAMBLA-defending (pro bono) ACLU silent about this? A bit selective, perhaps, because of ideology?

The Anti-American Communist Libertine Union??

Don't hold your breath. There's been a complete takeover of the universities in the land or at least the liberal arts sections of them. Did you get a look at that video and that slammite chick answering Horowitz's question??

@gungasnake,
Sorry I’ve taken so long to respond. Today was a busy day.

I have no illusions about the ACLU. I once saw a member declare on the Morton Downey Jr. Show that child pornography was protected by the U.S. Constitution. Absolutely sick.

Yes, I saw the video of the young gal. Also absolutely sick. A Nazi wearing a different sort of garb. Isn’t it interesting that the genocidal statements quoted by David Horowitz in his speech are completely ignored by a lot of people? This is why I don’t think there will ever be peace in that region.

Getting back to our own country, I’ve seen film footage of Ann Coulter attempting to give a speech, only to have some jerk attempt to throw a pie in her face. I’m neither a fan of hers, nor a political conservative. But I recognize that she was not being allowed to speak out. Talk about fascism …

@wmwcjr,
The people of Gaza are totally indoctrinated. Check this out:

Israelis are just trying to keep the lid down on the sewer hoping that something happens or something.

@gungasnake,
The peaceful settlement of a violent conflict is possible only when both sides are willing to make concessions, and nonstop propagandizing carried out over a period of many years results in attitudes and a mindset that cannot be soon changed simply by persuasion. Judging from simply a cursory examination of that website, I’m forced to conclude that the vision of a Palestinian state existing peacefully next to Israel is a pipe dream. Doesn’t bode well for the future. This all reminds me of the anti-Vietnam War movement, with which I sympathized to a degree at the time until the tragic aftermath. That “peace” movement led to Communist victories, including the genocidal reign of Pol Pot; I’m afraid this latest “peace” movement will eventually lead to …

That's exactly what I get. The "palestinians" would basically have to be de-nazified, some sort of a forced program as in Germany after WW-II, before anything rational could be done with them. Israelis may be hoping for an easier time dealing with them after a Republican takeover of the whitehouse in 2012 but the basic problem is a UN creation and not an American creation or anything Americans can exercise but so much control over.

Again in Bibi's place I'd give the UN a 30-day ultimatum, find some place 1000+ km from Israel to put your kept savages or watch them starve to death or be bombed.

@gungasnake,
I’m going to be busy for the rest of the day. You know what that means. A prolific poster I‘m not.

One side wants to survive (as is true of all mentally healthy human beings); the other side says, “You have no right to exist.” This provides a foundation for peace?
