So what do you think, good idea/bad idea? Do the people he was trying to address care what the President of America wants or thinks?

I am thinking all that should have been said was " we want you to have what you want, and we will try to help if asked".

Libya will cause him grief as a large portion of Libyans like Gadhafi. Syrian is a mysterious creature. The Baath party is a two country party in Syria and Iraq so it could be tricky.
