I boiled my baby's bottles and put a plastic teether in the water to sterilize. The teether melted ! I later rewashed and boiled the bottles but could there be any solvents or toxic material in the bottles from the melted teether.
Did any of the water get into the bottles? If not, I'd say it's probably impossible for there to be a problem. Not to say there's necessarily an issue if water did get in.
Hmm wish I could help more. Bumping this up, hoping for a Mom (or a chemist, or a chemist Mom ) to see it.

@elanamazur,
What are the bottles made from? Plastic or glass?
I *think* that if they're made from glass they should be fine.
I'm just not sure, though.
