I saw her standing there,
my Irish machuchla.
How beautiful
she looked that day.
Well- defined lips
closed tightly,
dark eyes stared frostily
hair blowing in the breeze,
a Galway shawl
covered her shoulders.
Her small hands
held a Thompson gun
which clattered and whined
as she pulled the trigger
.
Red seeped through his khaki
jacket as he slumped to the ground.
His permissive days were over.
Gallows claimed
my darling
but she will dwell
in my heart forever.

cusick, This is one surprising but riveting creation. I am assuming that you are a woman, and to be able to write such a powerful piece through the eyes of a man, is indeed a coup.
Yes Letty I am female and thank you for your reply. My only problem is most of my poems a little controversial. Maggie
cusick, many poems are controversial, and often that is what makes them unique. When a writer steps out of character, it only makes the verse more appealing. Let us hear more.

Letty sometimes it is easy to upset some people. Maggie
Maggie, don't let the fact that you have religious convictions deter you from continuing to create.

I won't Letty. But things are slow here. Maggie
