How do they get home (case of the missing keys)

This weekend I was at the mall getting some birthday presents. My daughter and I walked back out to the car, I reached into my pocket and to my horror - no keys! I looked throughout my purse and pockets - no keys!

Fortunately we had only gone into 3 stores. So I back track. Into the first store - no luck. Then I thought - well in the Halmark store I had pull out my wallet in order to get cash most likely where I lost it.

On the way I walked by customer service so I figured I'd check there as some one else was doing the same. They had a big box filled with all sorts of keys. Neither mine nor the woman that was looking found our respective keys. At the Halmark store - there they were as I suspected.

My question - how the heck do these people get home? I suspect they call a friend or something, but with so many keys in that box - what do they do? I don't know if I have another set of my car keys and I've never lost them before so what do these people do that do not recover their keys?

A lot of people keep an extra set of keys.

They make little magnetic boxes where you can hide a key under your car.

i keep an extra set hidden in the garage, because i walk outta the house without taking keys a few times a year... Rolling Eyes

Can't read this - it is blocked by my company - I've locked my keys in my car before - I just call AAA. I don't like the idea of hiding keys elsewhere under my car - afraid it will get stolen. The mall I was at is like the No. 1 place for stolen cars.

One thought I had was to keep a key in a zippered part of my purse. I've never lost them before as I've been good about stuff like that - my cell phone for instance I had for years and years - when I went to finally get a new one - the guy actually said I wouldn't recommend the insurance as you obviously don't need it.

But I am getting older and more forgetful.

I keep a spare key hidden within the car, and carry a flat entry key in my billfold. The car also holds a house key.
