Poem about Drug?

Thu 1 Jan, 2004 10:18 pm
I read this poem back in high school. Could anyone tell me if they know where I may find the complete poem or the author...or if anyone's even heard of it before....here goes:

Miss Heroine

So now, little man
You've grown tired of grass.
L.S.D., goofballs,
cocaine and hash.
And someone pretending
To be a true friend
Said ,"I'll introduce you
To Miss Heroin."
Well, honey, before you
start fooling with me
Just let me inform you
of how it will be.
For I will seduce you
and make you my slave
I've sent men much stronger
Than you to their graves.
You think you could never
become a disgrace
And end up addicted
To poppyseed waste?
{something,something,something...}
You'll swindle your mother
and just for a buck
you'll turn into something
vile and corrupt.
{something....etc.}
the withdrawal pains
can only be saved
by my little white grains
you'll desperately run
to the pusher, and then
you'll welcome me back
in your arms once again.
{something.........}

Any ideas?

angliz, Here it is:

POEM: MISS HEROIN
(Take Me in Your Arms)

So now, little man, you've grown tired of grass L.S.D., goofballs, cocaine and hash, and someone, pretending to be a true friend, said, "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin."

Well honey, before you start fooling with me, just let me inform you of how it will be.

For I will seduce you and make you my slave, I've sent men much stronger than you to their graves. You think you could never become a disgrace, and end up addicted to Poppyseed waste.

So you'll start inhaling me one afternoon, You'll take me into your arms very soon. And once I've entered deep down in your veins, The craving will nearly drive you insane.

You'll swindle your mother and just for a buck You'll turn into something vile and corrupt. You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm, and feel contentment when I'm in your arms.

The day, when you realize the monster you've grown, you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone.

If you think you've got that mystical knack, then sweetie, just try getting me off your back.

The vomit, the cramps, your gut tied in knots The jangling nerves screaming for one more shot. The hot chills and cold sweats, withdrawl pains, can only be saved by my little white grains.

There's no other way, and there's no need to look, for deep down inside you know you are hooked.

You'll desperately run to the pushers and then, you'll welcome me back to your arms once again.

And you will return (just as I foretold)! I know that you'll give me your body and soul.

You'll give up your morals, your conscience, your heart
And you will be mine until,
"Death Do Us Part"

--Anonymous

A reader wrote in recently and had this to say:

The poem, "Miss Heroin", was written many years ago by a London detective attached to the Central drug Squad at New Scotland Yard, England. His name is/was Duncan MacLaughlin, a Scottish nobleman. The correct title of the poem is "Take Me In Your Arms" (think about it). It has been added to and changed over the years by others (particularly for the American market-different terms for different drugs et cetera) and several people have claimed to have written it.

In actuality, the poem was written by a young girl who a week after writing it, passed away from a heroine overdose.

Hey, I do know the poem very well. I am a junkie also, so it's just something that sticks into your head, since it's so true. Here it goes.

TAKE ME IN YOUR ARM
(Miss Heroin)
So now little man, you've grown tired of grass, LSD, goofballs, cocaine and hash.
And someone pretending to be a good friend says,"I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin."
Well honey, before you start fooling with me, just let me inform you of how it will be.
For I will seduce and make you my slave.
I've sent men much stronger than you to their graves.
You think you could never become a disgrace.
And end up addicted to poppy seed waste
You'll start sniffing me one afternoon,
But you'll take me into your arms very soon
And once i've entered deep down in your veins
The craving will nearly drive you insane
You'll swindle your mother and just for a buck
You'll turn into something vile and corrupt
You'll mug and you'll steal for my narcotic charm
And feel contentment when I'm in your arm
The day when you realize the monster you've grown
You'll solemly swear to leave me alone
If you think you've got that mystical knack
Then sweetie, just try getting me off your back
The vomit, the cramps, your gut tied in knots
The jangling nerves screaming for one more shot
The hot chills, and cold sweats, withdrawal pains
can only be saved by my little white grains
There's no other way, and there's no need to look
For deep down inside you know you are hooked
You'll desperatly run to the pushers, and then
You'll welcome me back to your arms once again
And you will return just as I foretold
I know that you'll give me your body and soul
You'll give up your morals, your conscience, your heart
And you'll be mine, "Till death do us part"

So if you could e-mail me at [email protected], just so I can know that you got the poem, that would be cool.

My sister had a black light poster back in the 80's of a skeleton holding a syringe and a scroll ( I can' t remember what else was on it). The scroll had this poem on it. On the poster it was titled "Deadman's Creed"

Till Death Do Us Part
hello, my name is brittany and i was looking through my mom's old boxes of stuff from when she was in prison and rehab and stuff and i found that same poem intitled 'Till Death Do Us Part. (i am not gonna type the whole damn thing cuz it is the same as the ones above --^) but ne way when i asked my mom about it she told me she had to write a poem about addiction when she was in rehab, and talk about how horrible being addicted to an intense narcotic is. she claims to have written it, but as i have come to see, many ppl have. the copy i have is on regular notebook paper, with art at the top drawn from my mother (i can tell) she has drawn a syringe, bong, marijuana leaf, heroin in powdered form etc. and i can also tell that it is my mothers handwriting. i have heard, though, from other people that went to prison with my mom, that it was written by a lady in the prison and she had requested that it be passed around from cell to cell, just for others' knowledge. however in my opinion one may never know who wrote this poem simply for the fact that it was obviously written by a heroin addict.

Hi! i'm doing a novel this term at school based on drug abuse and my english teacher gave us this poem as an example, it was anonymously submitted to Dolly magazine in the 1980s as far as i know:

Miss Heroine,

so now little man you've gone tired of grass,
all that damn acid, that cocaine and hash.
and someone pretending that he is your friend
said "i'll introduce you to miss heroine".
well honey before you start fooling with me.
just let me tell you how it will be.
for i will seduce you and make you my slave
believe me i've seen stronger men to their grave.
you think you could never become a disgrace
and end up addicted to poppy seed waste

you'll start experimenting one afternoon
and end up asleep in my arms very soon
then once i have entered into your veins
the cravung will drive you nearly insane
you'll need lots of money as you ahve been told
for darling, i'm more expensive than gold
you'll swindle your mother for a buck
and turn into someone who's vile and corrupt
you'll mug and you'll steal for the narcotic charms
then feel so content when i'm in your arms

then you'll realise the monster inside you has grown
and you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone
but if you think it's easy and that you've got the knack
then sweetie just try getting me off your back
the vomit, the cramps, your guts in a knot
the jangling nerves screaming for just one more shot
the hot chills, the cold sweat, the withdrawal pains
can only be saved by my little white grains
so now you return (just as i foretold)
and i know you'll give me your body and soul
you'll give me your morals, your concience, you heart
and now you're mine till death do us part.

Hope that helped!

Truth about this poem MISS HEROIN
If anyone is interested in the truth about this poem then heres abit of info; Im a 48 year old junky from Australia, back in 1968 I was doing time in Fremantle Prison and in the library there was a thin paper back booklet on drugs and in it was this poem. Now alot of people have changed some of the words and then laid claim to it [even I did so when I was Young an dumb] its hard not to do so cause we all feel it relates to us personally. In the original poem theres no mention of goofballs or pushers and when you read it you realize how much the other crap doesn't match or even rhyme with it, the oldest known reference that I know of is that book and it was 1966 it refers to a man writing it only because it came from a male prison. This is the best I can remember it but im sure theres a verse missing;

So now little man you've grown tired of grass
All that damn acid, that cocaine so harsh
And someone pretending that he is your friend
Said "I'll introduce you to Miss Heroin".

Well honey before you start fooling with me
Just let me tell you of how it will be
For I will seduce you and make you my slave
Believe me I've sent stronger men to their grave

You think you could never become a disgrace
And end up addicted to potty-seed waste
You'll start by experimenting one afternoon
And end up asleep in my arms very soon

Then once I have entered deep in your veins
The craving will drive you nearly insane
You'll need lots of money as you have been told
For darling, I'm more expensive than gold

You'll swindle your mother just for a buck
And turn into someone who's vile and corrupt
You'll mug and you'll steel for the narcotic charms
Then feel so content when I'm in your arms

Then you'll realize the monster inside you has grown
And you'll solemnly swear to leave me alone
But if you think that it's easy and that you've got the knack
Then sweetie, just try getting me off your back

The vomit, the cramps, your gut in a knot
The jangling nerves screaming for just one more shot
The hot chills, the cold sweat, the withdrawal pains
Can only be saved by my little white grains

So now you returned (just as I foretold)
And I know that you'll give me your body and soul
You'll give me your morals, your conscience, your heart
And now you are mine till death us do part.

re: Poem "Till Death Do Us Part"
This poem was not written by anyone from the Scotland Yard Drug Unit, or by a girl. It was written (anonymously) by a male prison inmate who was a recovering heroin addict.

To Blarzae re: poem "Till Death Do Us Part" (miss
Blarzae,

I would just like to report that you are 100% correct about the info you provided about the anonymous author of "Till Death Do Us Part" (Miss Heroin). For 33 years I have remembered this poem word for word as it is the most chilling addiction poem I have ever read, and I am absolutely positive that the author was in fact, a prison inmate.
Cheers to you Blazare!
