@Einklein,
Although requiring some evidence to build a comprehensive model of it you cannot repeat History !
(no need to go further than that...A+ in a single sentence answer...)

@Einklein,
Scientific knowledge is what scientists agree on
Historical knowledge is what politicians agree on

@Fil Albuquerque,
What could a "comprehensive model" of History mean? All models are partial images, highly selective interpretive versions of reality.

@Cyracuz,
Yes, scientific knowledge is what scientists agree on, but not just because of a reflexive consensus (as if their conclusions were philosophical ones); the consensus they depend on is their agreement regarding the criteria characteristic of the Scientific Method.
And yes again, history consists primarily of interpretations reflecting political values and interests. It's rarely disinterested chronicling of events and brute facts.

@JLNobody,
precisely...Scientific knowledge although not perfect is testable and can be repeated...as for History you cannot repeat it to check how things really were. You rely in some evidence and you build a model from the few fragments of information you are left with...

@JLNobody,
Thats a good point. It is perhaps not the information itself, but the means by which it was obtained that decides if it is scientific, historical, religious and so on.
