Like thack says, it's pretty much a brand name of auto tint shops. If I remember right, they did claim the film contained some compound involving gold. The stuff is polarized, though that's more important around snow, ice, and water than in normal driving. Anyhow, I again say that I believe the installation is more important than the material. They did a good job on mine.
