@littlek,
Good, K. (you won't throw those molds out will you?).

Very happy about the change.

So glad to read that they're on the right track now! You are probably teaching them new skills!

Thanks all! You helped me tremendously! They do seem to make a difference in school, especially in hearing across the room. It was only day one today, and I didn't wear them the whole day. I'm off until Tuesday (long weekend!).

@littlek,
Excellent. Now, just keep them dry and when you store them, do it with the battery out and the battery compartment open. Moisture is not your friend.

Compression ratios, huh. I never heard of that.

I'm so paranoid about them falling off/out of my ears somehow and into some sort of water (toilet, sink, puddle....).

@littlek,
Mine fell into damp sink and were ok after a while.

They stick pretty well...I think I knocked mine off doing something weird.

Yay with better hearing!!

@littlek,
It's great that the hearing aids finally seem to be working well and making a difference for you, littlek.

Mine never falls out. Almost did today, but was caught by the ear mold. Smile

This is driving me crazy. After more exposure to being in school with the aids on, I'm not sure how much they help. I still can't hear the woman who mumbles sotto voce. I still can't hear the very quiet boy. But others have issues with them as well. I can hear a little better across a room. The tips still wiggle out when I chew food. I swear I change my mind every single day as to whether I'm keeping them or not. It is not at all obvious that they are worth the thousands of dollars they will cost.

@littlek,
Bummer, but good you know your qualms now rather than later. Tough decision.

@littlek,
Tough decision, but remember that there are just some people who mumble so badly they'll only be understood by someone who lives with them constantly. Kind of like a new language.

@roger,
Well, I decided to order another hearing aid (for the other ear, of course!)

I have a bit of cash just right now, which won't happen again, and I thought I'd go for it.

Exact same aid...only I guess it will be tuned slightly differently.

I also bought both of them the dearest little socks, to protect from sweat etc.

@dlowan,
Socks? You mean, they protect them while you're wearing them? Tell me more.

@roger,
They claim to. From sweat and dust and such....also claim to cut down on wind noise and such.

It's gonna be summer here...that means sweat.

@dlowan,
C'mon. What's the brand? Where did you get them? If they're comfortable, I want one bad enough to buy a whole pair.

@roger,
I went to my hearing aid place to get new batteries and order a new aid....they were on sale there.

The browser here at work is hi-jacked by some damn ad thing. They're called hearing aid sweat bands. Google 'em.
