crowded skies and armrests. 3 seats, all filled so who gets the arm rests?
The folks in the aisle seat can lean toward the aisle, and the window-seat passenger has the window to lean on. The poor middle-seat passengers are suffering enough -- they get both armrests.

At the rodeo last week, I sat in the middle and kept off the arm rests the whole time. Of course, we didn't stay through Tim McGraw's whole performance, which shortened the ordeal.

One shares them around over the flight time.

One has to wriggle.

@dyslexia,
I hope no one from any of the airlines is reading this, or we'll have to start paying for them.

@dyslexia,
That's a fair treatise on the subject.

Me? I myself request the window seat when I fly.

@dyslexia,
You know what - I always get screwed when it comes to armrests. It seems the over riding theory is the larger person always get the "shared" armrest.

So say you are sitting in the middle and you are petite. There are two chubbies on either side - not only are you screwed because they overlap into your seat area, they feel they have a right to arm rests on both sides. If you are on the aisle, and a larger person is in the middle, they will take the arm rest from you.

My opinion, the person in the middle should get both arm rests on either side of them. Since they are in the worst spot squeezed between two others, they should at least get a little bit of benefit.
