What's the proper way to draw "Asian eyes" on a cartoon animal?

I'm talking about drawing Asian eyes on ANTHROPORMORPHIC cats and dogs.

JGoldman, STOP TALKING ENDLESSLY ABOUT THE COMICS YOU'RE GOING TO DRAW, AND DRAW THE COMICS. How many years on how many online forums have you talked about what you're GOING to do? Stop talking about it. DO it. Draw a cat with slanted, pointy-at-both-ends eyes, like the human cartoon characters you've posted here. See if it looks oriental, or just like a cat with peculiar eyes. You've wasted enough years on the net. PICK UP THAT DAMNED PENCIL AND SHUT UP. Get the DVD of "Kung Fu Panda" and see what they did to make the panda look Asian. Watch the PBS kids cartoon show about the family of talking super cats that lives at the Chinese emperor's court (my nieces watch it--I don't remember the name). Get off your probably-much-larger-than-it-was-years-ago-when-you-started-all-this-crap butt and go to work.

Which set of "Asian eyes" do you like better? Or do you like both?

Neither look particularly Asian to me. Why don't you look at close ups of real Asian people? You'll see they're nothing like that. And they're not all the same. Korean eyes are different from Japanese eyes which are different from Chinese eyes, etc. There's more shape to them than that pointy oval you're drawing which is why your eyes don't look Asian.

No, not necessarily. Seriously, take a look at their eyes and draw the outline you see. That oughta do it for you. I should know, I've been drawing and painting for 40 yrs. You can rely on black hair, but the eyes are the clincher here.

The only difference is the eyes I drew above are more cartoony.

They are intended to be .exaggerations of what Asian eyes look like.

I am waiting to see what my Asian friends think. One girl said to her the almond shaped eyes are more feminine and the oval ones are more masculine.

Well why not just copy those, then, instead of soliciting advice and opinions???? Do them and be happy or draw your own and be original.

Do you actually have any Asian friends? If so, ask them, then! Seems to me you just come here indiscriminately and ask the whole site what we think. Maybe you should specify who should answer or go to an Asian site.
