What does "masi" mean in Indian?

“Bena, lie down for a little while. Take some rest,” Rupa says, reaching out her arms for the baby. “I’ll hold her. Come, give her to masi.” She offers a weak smile.

I know that Bena means sister in Indian. But what does "masi" mean in Indian?

Masi is a short form of goddesS name of Badagas in OOTY Tamilnadu. The goddess is called by the name HEERA MASI, MASI AMMAN, - Prakash krishnan

Masi is combination of two words "Maa" and "Si" Maa means mother si means like so exactly means "maa jaisi" or " like mother......"
