US fiancee visa

My fiancee told me he filed the petition paper last December 2010. Eventually, we are in 3rs long distance relationship now. My fiancee lives in US and i am from the Philippines. I admit i drained waiting the papers will be approved since i am always at home waiting any update i could hear from him. He told me it will only take few months but i don't know coz till now i hear nothing about it. My question is how long does a fiancee in US can be approved? What are some requirements my fiancee would get?
