Does anyone know anything about this pop-up which appears fairly often on my computer? The text reads: New Test Pilot Study. The Test ilot 'A Week in the life of a Browser'(v2) study is about to begin." Then at the bottom it has a link for more info.

I'm curious as all get out, but don't dare click the More Info link. Is this project legit?

@Tomkitten,
Haven't seen it. Wouldn't have clicked it, either.

dont click. this will lead you to a program that will monitor your browser usage and quite possibly direct your browser to certain web sites

@Tomkitten,
There is such a program being run by Mozilla: http://mozillalabs.com/testpilot/2010/11/02/a-week-in-the-life-of-a-browser-refreshed/

If you want to participate, I would do so through their website instead of clicking on an ad link.

@engineer,
Is it ok to just click on the X to get rid of it?
