Recipe challenge!

I accidentally ended up with two cans of cinnamon "roll" dough - it's really biscuit dough with cinnamon/butter stuff sprinkled throughout it.

We tried this stuff once years ago and didn't like it but rather than throw it out I'm trying to get creative and find a way to use it.

Do you think I could roll it flat, put on some pie filling, add another flattened biscuit to the top, and pinch it together -- to make kind of like a cinnamon pie ravioli thing?

Or what about if I stuffed it with bacon and cream cheese?

Or fresh fruit and ricotta or mascarpone cheese?

Should it be baked or fried?

Or what if I flattened it out and jammed it into a muffin pan, filled it with something and baked it?

Or.... or.... what?

Thanks!

@Fido,
It isn't old. I've had it in the fridge for about a week. I just noticed that it isn't regular biscuits today.

@boomerang,
roll it out like a big pizza. Cover it with butter , then make a mix of sugar, egg whites vanilla and smashed pecans and grind it into a gritty spread. Let it warm up a bit and spread the nut mix on the buttered pizza. Roll it up and seal the ends and the edges.

BAke it at about 350 and enjoy it as a nut roll with a cinnamon kick.

@farmerman,
That sounds great!

If I smashed all the dough together do you think it would meld together enough to make a big roll or should I consider several small rolls?

@boomerang,
Id make several amallies. The dough for my nut rolls is always less than 8" in diameter. It puffs a bit during the bake off.
UH OH, I just thought---my dough is always a yeast dough.

sorry... the line of trying this stuff years ago threw me off... Many people hoard food... It does present problems, and causes waste as if we haven't got enough of that..

@Fido,
Dont worry, old biscuit dough(past any expiration date and several months in the freezer), need not be a waste. Whenever we find some food articat that had slipped into a freezer cravasse, we would take it out, inspect it, then
say for biscuits, bake em off as chunks with some gralic powder (The dogs love em as treats) Also partially baked to a leather hard styage, they serve as good wired fish baits for deep sea fishing. One of my best flounder rigs has a series of "baskets" that hold tiny chunks of slightly baked bread or rolls. The flounder love the essence of yeast and will start a frenzy (dont tell anybody but this is a big secret to catching big 'Alibutts. "Alibutts love a yeast flavor and will swallow the whole rig (which can be a problem retrieving from a two foot gullet)
