msconfig settings not saved

I'm having a problem removing some startup items via msconfig startup tab. I uncheck a numer of items, then click "apply", but if I click OK, or even go to another tab then return to "startup" the items are once again checked.

Anyone have any experience in this type of issue ?

Hmm that's a very odd one. If it were going back after a reboot I'd be thinking of looking into the registry but what you describe is really odd.

In any case, I hope someone out there has seen that and gets you an answer. Welcome to A2K.

What OS are you running? If you are on Win2000 Pro or WinXP Pro are you changing the settings while logged in as "Admin"?
