Does anyone know how far back a GoBack Restore Point remains valid?

This was posted to another thread by accident - sorry about the duplication, but maybe I'll get more answers that way . . .

There's an interesting discussion going on right now about GoBack (System Restore) in Windows XP. I don't know if one has to become a member to join the discussion. Worth reading anyway. "computing.net discussion" below takes you there.

Tom, What do you mean by "valid"?

It's valid for as long as it's available, and availablility is determined by the amount of disk space allocated to that feature.

Now the older it is the older it is, that's the real limitation. The farther back you restore the farther back you restore. I can't find a way to say it that's not stating the obvious.

The older the backup the more antiquated the data will be.

Other than that the limitation is the disk space allocated for backup data.
