It´s an old black and white classic about a little orphan girl raised by scientists. In the end the girl ends up marrying one of the scientists/men, who helped raise her. Can anyone answer this question?

@Kakofonia,
Are you thinking of one of the classic Sci-Fi movies of all time, 'Forbidden Planet'? First release of this movie was 1956. It starred Leslie Nielsen, Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, Robbie the Robot. Not sure Anne Francis' character married Dr Morbius, though.

'Monsters from the Id'

@Ragman,
Forbidden Planet wasn't black and white. I think the girl left on the ship with Leslie Nielsen (not sure they were married, probably just shacking up).

Thanks for the answers!

This movie was more like a comedy. Since this little girl is raised by professors/scientists of different fields of expertise, who try to figure out how to properly raise this girl. That leads to many comedic scenes. And in the end she ends up with one of the guys. All of the other guys are bachelors apart from one of them who used to be married, the oldest of them.

I can´t, for the life of me, remember the lead actors or an exact year when this movie was made. That´s why it´s been so hard to try to Google it or find anything on IMDB etc.

@Kakofonia,
Margaret O'Brien, a popular child actress in the 1940's, starred in a movie called "Lost Angel". Here is a plot summary from Wikipedia:

Quote:
The professors of the Institute of Child Psychology raise a foundling baby, whom they name "Alpha", as an experiment to see if a scientific upbringing can create a genius. By the time she is six years old, Alpha can speak Chinese, play chess and the harp, and has studied algebra and the campaigns of Napoleon, among other things.

Newspaper reporter Mike Regan is assigned, over his protests, to write an article about her. He manages to secure an interview, despite the reluctance of the professors, and discovers that Alpha, while raised with loving care, has missed out on the joys of childhood. Disturbed by Mike's claim that magic is real, Alpha decides to investigate further and sneaks out to see Mike, leaving the confines of the institute for the first time in her life.

This describes Ball of Fire, starring Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck, later remade as A Song is Born with Danny Kaye and Virginia Mayo. Ball of Fire isn't about scientists raising a child -- it's about compilers of an encyclopedia who "study" a nightclub singer who is hiding out from the cops and, later, from her hoodlum boyfriend.
