Say please. PLEASE
Wont you leave the winding street
Leave the street where I dream and weep?
Under holiday 'good cheer' forms a shadow
Hidden painfully deep.
Now it sings of plums and evergreen
Paring apples, pears and squash, for feasting
Fill the downy duvets, fresh and fluff the chair
Hours march and move and march- fast forward , n'er ceasing!
Potporri a' scenting, ling'ring-- How you must just go away!
I am in the midst of gathering
A thief of lilting and life, you're callous
Not just pain and love, but TIME , you are tattering!
The clock has gone to where it will rest
No radio will shatter my peace.
I'll fill out my red cheeks with the Best
And promise my face to denounce your crease.
Oh go! I am slowing, languidly poring o'er my cup
No hurry to town, no making the pies passing noon
For the love birds sing to me, my feet in the air
Reclining. Christmas hurry. You are bringing me- my time back? SOON
