I am the great, great, great grandaughter of Samuel Lyle and Florella Brown Adair. Florella is a half sister to John Brown.

Are there any more Brown relatives on a2k?

It gets worse, I am also kin to U.S. Grant on mom's side and John Bell Hood on my dads and my daughter in law is kin to Robert E. Lee.

A real family screw up.

OR . . . who else has Civil War military kin and what did they do?

I recently purchased a pewter medal which celebrated the 10th year anniversary of the end of the Civil War in California.

@Sglass,
chickasaw...

Chickasaw is the English spelling of Chikashsha (IPA: [tʃikaʃːa]), meaning "rebel" or "comes from Chicsa".

My ggrandfather, my avatar, was a member of JAMES BURNET'S BATTALION; 1ST TEXAS SHARP SHOOTERS; CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY. They fought at the battle of Vicksburg and then went to Oklahoma Territory til the end of the war.

@BillW,
What was his name?

I remember going to Vicksburg and there is a monument there with the names of confederate and union officers engraved on it. My great great great grandfathers name was Joel Anderson (from Illinois)his name was on the monument.
