in the 15 minutes before and after 12:00 am new years eve I would guess there were between 40 and 50 gun shots within 100 yards of our house. many of them so close sounding I thought Lady Diane was out on our patio with my rifle.

@dyslexia,
I don't know about the guns and new year connection but I do love the image of Lady Di, in her pajamas, having fun on the patio with a shotgun.

@dyslexia,
I've heard about this connection but never witnessed it considering I live in the NE of the US, where guns are not as overtly rampant then in the south or the Ozarks or in third world countries.

BTW: Is Lady Diane a swell shot?

@dyslexia,
We would actually pull police cruisers and 1st responders from the streets in certain areas of Miami just before and after 12:00 am NYE to protect the officers from celebratory gunfire.

I think it's a waste of ammo and prefer fireworks Cool
