Crowned in Empyrean sun,
the lone mountain stands,
ringed in a cloud of fire.
Over a glowing field of white
glides the newborn rays of sun.
Shadows stretch from pines,
striping the cotton covered mountains.
I look to the morning,
to the birth of day,
to find the hope
and destroy the pain
of nighttime's loneliness
without you.
The day is new,
the sun is bright.
You are near
but out of sight.
Still I wonder
if it is true.
Hopefully I'll find out
while skiing with you.
Was it just a joke,
were you just having fun?
I can't tell
and don't know how to respond
Love is universal and speaks the same language -
Pain and longings......
I do hope no hidden meanings......?
Deeper meanings
could there be?
I sit here and wonder
what she might see.
