Studios are getting desperate for this found footage style, trapped in a single location horror/thriller movies. They think they see really low budgets, really big profits from a box office score.
I thought you were going to say that you used to drive something a bit like that.

Holy crap tsar.
Where do you find this stuff?
Years of watching Mystery Science Theater and RiffTrax have made me a junkie for really really cancerously bad movies. Needless to say, I watch several movie reviewers on YouTube that specialize in monstrously bad films.
This one isn't on the nose Razzie bad... but it reeks of trying too hard to be the next great Woody Allen... sans the neuroticism, the NYC charm and flavor, the wit and self deprecatory humor, etc....
And it's not like it's packed with A listers who are incredible actors in their own right.
For one thing, the lead? A slightly more palatable version of Robert Pattinson.

@tsarstepan,
Yeah. I watched Desierto. It was about some cranky guy killing Mexicans crossing the border. His dog gets killed in a bad way, that makes you feel sorry for it.
I'm pretty sure oodles of neurons just committed suicide in my brain. It's just so sad this was the last thing they got to process before clocked out..
