Was there even a big bang or is the universe just a matter of inflation and deflation. ? who knows ? check this out, You Tube, BBC Horizon 2010: 1/6 what happened before the big bang. All 6 parts are on you tube. ENJOY.
what is the current theory regarding how the universe was created?
The currently accepted scientific theory for the evolution of the Universe is the Big Bang theory. The BB addresses the first few moments after the BB and the subsequent evolution of the cosmos. It does not address the cause of the BB.
