Impedence of Inductor

If you wanted to find the impedence of an inductor at a specific frequency and you checked the voltage drop and current with two averageing meters and then with two true RMS meters shouldn't you get slightly diffgerent voltage and current readings, but when you did the math you would get very close to the same impedence?
