Missing status bar

My status bar which normally lives at the bottom of the Word screen has either disappeared completely or is completely hidden by the Quick Launch bar with mini icons like, time, AVG, temperature, etc. How can I get it back? I need it really badly.

I run XP on a HP Pavilion a1550y, & Word 2003.
