You know those newsy holiday letters you always get with Christmas cards? Here, I hope you'll share a great accomplishment, news item or a fun thing you've done in 2003.
... 'Tis the season ...
My news is: I started classes to become a Certified Oracle Database Administrator. The classes are tough, but I'm learning a lot.
Way to go Jespah. The very best to you :-)
I second Montana's congratulations; well done! I hope that you do well.
When do your classes finish?
Something for me, hmm: I learnt how to play the saxophone from scratch, and now I've started out in a jazz ensemble that's doing quite well...
Hey, thanks. I finish in April. But then there are tests. Eeek.
The sax, eh? My father-in-law played sax in an army band during the Korean War. Which type of sax - alto? soprano? tenor?
Montana, got any great brag stuff for the end of the year? :-D
Can't say I do Jes, except that my son is doing great with his schooling this year ;-)
That'll work. Yay! And Happy Birthday to your mother! :-D
I've lost twenty five pounds (twenty five to go) more from concentrating on changing my lifestyle than from consciously dieting.
I've made enormous progress on accepting several unpalatable parts of the universe.
I'm learning to listen without commenting.

LOL! If you check out moms birthday thread again, you'll see that I goofed and her birthday is actually tomorrow, haha! No wonder she was so surprised. I will pass on your Happy Birthday though, seeing that we still have plenty of time ;-) Thanks Jes :-)
d_e_r - my father-in-law (and my father, incidentally), were both stationed at Fort Monmouth. In lovely New Jersey. So they went home on the weekends to visit the gals who became my Mom and mother-in-law. They didn't know each other at the time, so it's just kind of a bizarre coincidence. I'll have to ask but I think he played the alto sax.
The best thing this year was meeting up with Rae, Misti, Letty, Roger, Mapleleaf, Diane, and Phoenix in Florida this spring!
It showed us all, I think, that age, nationality, and other "boundaries" are not existant when you meet people for the first time. We never knew that there was going to be a thirty year span in age, but fact is- we never felt the difference!
This is why Urs and I are going to haunt Florida again in May '04. You wanna come?
bigdice67 - Yeah, let's talk this up. Maybe this year we can attract a HUGE crowd of A2Kers.
Everybody- Florida is just GORGEOUS in May. The weather is perfect, dry and not too hot, most of the snowbirds have gone, so it is not very crowded!
where in florida? can i come...huh huh, can I?
hmm news:, I had my first 'chaperone' duty for a fieldtrip this past Friday (my 4 year old went on her first fieldtrip) wahoo...
Sure onyxelle! This April we met in Cocoa Beach, but we haven't decided where we meet the next time
but check this out!
might i suggest orlando? :-)
I went to Austin three times this year to meet A2Kers - and it was worth it since I met Max, BillW, Lola, PDiddie, Blatham, and JoanneDorel.
I also had a lovely long weekend in NYC in July, where I met Bree amidst other enjoyable activities.
I ate an apple in one bite!!!! YAY!!!
Way to go, Slappy!
Let's see... We had a gathering in Seattle on the occasion of littlek's visit to the Northwest. Met some nice people, had a good time, and I discovered a new pub!
hhhmmmm...I met some new A2K people earlier this year. Don't see them around much any more....very suspicious.
On to the Christmas Card update:
Got engaged, planning wedding (married next year), bought a house after looking for 8 months - we close on the 29th, turned 30y.o., and I didn't to learn a thing so everyday continues to be an adventure!
