One of my all time fave tunes, never heard that version before. Needs David Sylvian for true spine chills. Beautiful arrangement. I'm such a sucker for cello.
Well trying not to be too anal - it's not the original because it's live, and Ryiuchi looks at least twenty years older than he was when he starred in the movie as captain Yonoi. I have the soundtrack and there's no clapping in it.
I bought the album.. do I still have it? No, gave it to bro-in-law. Does he still have it, no, I'm sure not, he lives like a trappist monk. So, I wonder where it is now.. I hope in good hands.
Says you, if we had a Dollar for every CD, DVD,
Cassette, video or record we lent out and never
got back, We'd be rich, oh and why is it always
family are the worst at returning things.
Tracked down the soundtrack, but haven't listened to it yet - hope it's as good as that piece! The art in the vid great/disturbing too.
This just came up on random. I've never paid much attention to My Bloody Valentine, but this is spooky lovely. Apparently it was on a 7" single included with a limited edition of their second album "It Isn't Anything".
Never ceases to amaze how much music I missed even though I was listening all the time.

I'm not much of a guitar dude, but when I am 'feel' definitely overrides pyrotechnics, well mostly. So I'm more Gilmour than Malmsteen, if you get my drift.
This just came up on random and made me think Peter Green/mellow Stevie Ray/ even Caravanserai-era Carlos Santana
Eminently laid back music for being in the middle of nowhere and calm

Just came across this band, but not this track, a sort of anxious alt pop/rock take on shoegazey space rock. Apparently they supported Florence and the Machine on a tour somewhen - definitely not clones of them though.

I own a couple of Stevie Ray albums but I hadn't heard this track before:
Suddenly I feel very mellow...
Modern Russian Space Rock! Who would have thought - and free and legal.

Vespero biography
VESPERO got together as a quartet (Arkady Fedotov - vocals, bass, flute, synths; Valentin Rulev - violin, synths; Ivan Fedotov - drums, percussion; Alexander Kuzovlev - guitar, bass, synths) in Astrakhan (south of Russia) 2003 on the common interest in playing psychedelic music. Later Natalya Tjurina (vocals) joined, and the band moved into more progressive rock-related areas. As their Moscow fellows KAFTAN SMEKHA, VESPERO are deeply influenced by avant theatre and experimental poetry. Since the very first demos their sound has been influenced by GONG, early FLOYD, FAUST and related bands from that era. Highly recommended for all fans of these (and beyond!).
according to wiki, they found that a little to much of a mouthful
Early in 2010, Fuzzbox announced their reunion, returning as a quintet without drummer Tina O'Neill, and with the addition of bass player Sarah Firebrand (also of Tigertailz) and drummer Karen Milne. A 13-date UK tour took place in May, along with a new single and video, a cover of M's Pop Muzik, released through Gotham Records and iTunes on 17 May.
On Saturday 25 September 2010, Fuzzbox headlined at the Shifnal Festival. Fuzzbox have recently been confirmed to play Whitby Gothic Weekend on Friday 25 March 2011
it's interesting, but almost 3o years on they're definitely not the band they once were
