@eurocelticyankee,
Good god those are beautiful renditions of beautiful songs, thanks for them all. The last song is a favourite here in Canada, and always puts a tear in me eye.

@Ceili,

This is the saddest song I know...
A second version with pretty pictures and sung by a man.

@Ceili,
Lovely music Ceili.

Here's Canada.
What a country, how lucky you are vast, wild ,untamed , beautiful and yet what a modern forward looking country.
I'd love to live there.

I believe you're Canadian ceili??? EH Laughing

@hingehead,
Glad you like The Fountain soundtrack by Clint Mansell.
I love it & the movie too.

So Sad.

Here's another movie with an awesome soundtrack by the maestro himself, Ennio Morricone.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA.

@eurocelticyankee,
I loved this when it came out - love that riff, but it was 1979 not 1982. Have you recently discovered early Human League? The next album, Travelogue, was their best.

Oh , it's an 1982 remix - lacks the immediacy and viscerality of the original

Bloody hell and my brain is shot! This was off Travelogue and it was 1980. Rockin! (in a purely electronic way of course)

@hingehead,
No man, I was always into The Human League.
There was great music around them days. The good ol' days. My heyday.

Another flashback

This just came up on random - sounds like Peter, Bjorn and John meets 80s synthpop. Nice.

@hingehead,
Yeah, a bit of Bowie in there, maybe, but nice I like it.

@eurocelticyankee,
Nice bikini - never came across it before. (not being much of club goer) I think it lacks redeeming qualities if you weren't there at the time having it pound your bones.

@eurocelticyankee,
They never charted downunder, but I remember the hair decorations and lame dance moves!

If you remember the rave scene you weren't really there, huh? Laughing

Random just threw this up (literally) from the 'Little Band Scene' in Melbourne 79-81. Totally bizarre that I come across this via the 'Mutant Sounds' blogger, who is in Greece, 30 years after it was recorded. I remember stuffing around with bits of electronics in my teens and making weird tracks out of it - why was it such a meme at the time? I blame Eno, Punk, drugs or something.
