I have heard of a thing called ethical hacking (not really hacking, more about testing your own netowk for vunerabilties). Were can I start?

There are a variety of tools for testing network security. Probably the most widely used free tool is Nmap.

Other tools include Wireshark, LANguard, and Netcat.
