I'm off to see My Man Godfrey at the HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival tonight. I was wondering have any of you guys had the pleasure of attending any free movies on an outdoor screen?

There are dozen of outdoor summer film festivals here in NYC and I can't imagine that there aren't any in other cities.

Tuesday (13 Jul. 2010)? Lang Lang will headline the NY Philharmonic in Central Park concert.

This Wednesday? I have a choice between Labyrinth, The Secret of Kell, or a completely different program from the NY Philharmonic in Central Park. Three events in three different parks.

NYC is flooded with free public events this summer!

What about your city? Any free concerts? Any outdoor film festivals? Any free public theater going on?

I used to volunteer at American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA and loved it. I am about to begin some volunteering at Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA.

Won a set of tickets to Tanglewood for a mostly Gershwin program. Under the shed!

Now I have a personal Sophie's choice on my hand in regards to Wednesday.

Should I go see ...

1. Labyrinth at McCarren Park or;
2. Secret of the Kells at Brookln Bridge Park or;
3. See another New York Philharmonic concert in Central Park. This time, Bradford Marsalis will be headlining the concert:

@tsarstepan,
The Bryant Park HBO film Festival is back. Started last Monday with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

If weather is nice after I go to the gym, I'll be seeing Hitchcock's 39 Steps tonight.

Hudson River Park will also be screening free movies on a couple of Hudson River piers starting in July.

@tsarstepan,
Came in from seeing Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Uproarious and appreciative crowd. Pleasant first watch. I can see how it may beguile the audience. Far from a perfect film... an 8/10.
