Saw an amazing show last night. There's nothing like discovering a new indie (referring to label not genre) band.

Give a listen to Rafter. Particularly the first song on there, Chances.

Rafter is actually the dude's name. He was a very cool guy, and a super talented musician. This coming from a total snob when it comes to underground shows.

He's from San Diego, so you Californians should keep your eyes peeled. I'm listening to Sex Death Cassette right now. Excellent album through and through.

Okay. I'm done gushing.

I think Swimpy might be interested, just based on what she's listed on this thread.

Interesting indeed. I have to check if he's playing at the Belly Up in
Solana Beach. There is another good singer coming out of San Diego -
her name is Tristan Prettyman. I like her voice and one of her songs

Take me to the River/Al Green
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Tgm7v284JI

(and I have to admit I've been listening to him pretty much round the clock since Sunday). I carried the cd from my house to my car to my classroom (the students love Al Green).

I was just thinking I'd love to see him live - never have - and found out he's playing in Atlantic City two days before I leave the country - karma.
