Big Boss Man- Big George Brock
In the past two or three weeks, I've heard two bands play this song - which I'd never heard before in my life...I like it.
I think it's a Jimmy Reed song
Well the guy I saw do it two weeks ago was this guy named 'Little Sammy Davis' ( his mother probably named him about the same time Sammy Davis Jr.'s mother did - he was pretty old) but anyway - he introduced a number of songs by saying, 'Here's some Little Walter'- so I don't know if he was including this one with those or what.
Last night I saw this band from Florida called 'The Lee Brothers' but now I think they might call themselves 'The Lee Boys' because two of the founding brother members have died and now the nephews are playing with the one remaining uncle - but anyway - they do pedal steel guitar blues - and oh my god - Panzade - you should look them up down there. They're from Miami - talented...they've played with the Allman Brothers and the Neville Brothers... if you like that kind of thing - you'd love them. I did - they played this one song about a train and it sounded just like a train was coming through the building...amazing.
Although I like Eric Clapton, there is no comparison to Freddie King.

I'm listening to the new Al Green - Lay It Down
pretty damn impressive: a good 2/3 of it is classic Reverend Green - I mean this guy must be like sixty - and he's still got it-look at that smile:
Two of my new favorite classics by Al:
