Rainy Night In Georgia-Sam Moore and Conway Twitty
all this Al Green talk reminds me of Sam Moore of Sam and Dave fame.
Here he sings a beautiful Brook Benton ballsd with the late Conway Twitty-
Now tell me,does color make a difference in music?
I think not.
Conway, I miss you
I love Conway too! When we lived in Maine there was this tiny little theater on Maine Street that played stuff about two weeks later than everyone else, but it was only three bucks and we could walk to it from our house (although the screen and stage made you feel like you were sitting in a school auditorium- it was that small). Anyway - the preshow music was always Conway Twitty's greatest hits.
I know every single word to every single song - here's the one that always started it off-

One of the best concerts I ever saw in mid-'70s was Little Feat with Lowell George. What a show they put on! These guys were so tight and rocked the joint OUT!
Dixie Chicken is still one my faves as I cannot sit down whenever it's on!
Then again - there's this one. I DARE you to sit down while listening :

Joni Mitchell and Johnny Cash
Joni Mitchell and Johnny Cash sing together
'The Long Black Veil' - a duet that is haunting in its beauty. They both never sounded better. Perhaps arguably no one else has sounded better together, either.

This movie arguably could be the best concert/bio-pic EVER. Cruise around there on Youtube with those links and you can catch other great hits of The Band from Last Waltz.
Oh hell, just BUY that DVD!
Ian Dury and the Blockheads (late-70s) at their best!

I first heard this band when Santana played with them (or they played with Carlos Santana) - love them on their own here - this song especially
Fantastic piece of music Aidan, had not heard of them before, although I saw Santana here earlier this year.
