Dance me to the end of love - Leonard Cohen

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love

Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Have you ever heard her (Shirley Bassey's) version of the Doors, "Light My Fire"? It's incredible...

Jessica Simpson's remake of "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" I am ashamed to admit. I must add that this song contains an equally shameful underuse of Willy Nelson. I can't name a song by him I like but I do know I enjoy his voice, and the remake doesn't showcase nearly enough of it.

Laughing Seaasleep - I'm laughing right now - I don't know why but I find what you just wrote really, really funny. I am so out of it that I haven't heard Jessica's version of Boots - but I do love that song - hate her though - almost everything about her including her voice. I even like Tanya Tucker better than her. But - hey - you go for it - and I admire your courage in being able to admit liking it....does Willy Nelson really do harmonies for her (or back-up)? I might actually have to download it and listen to it.

It's cool. Laughter is usually a good thing. Smile Jessica Simpson isn't my usual cuppa tea but occasionally I enjoy a bit of pop, you know. I do think she has a good voice, but most of her songs suck. Don't get me started on her remake of Berlin's "Take My Breath Away"!

As for Willy, I think he sings harmonies for her. Though she has lowered her voice to a Britney Spears-esque purr for the song, she and the throbbing hiphop/pop country beats completely overwhelm his voice. If I hadn't seen the video, I wouldn't have known he sang on the track at all.
