Now THAT'S a halftime show. Great band. Great composer. Great singer. Hey Jude took me back to my 17th birthday.
Listening to the late great Waylon Jennings
Waylon's songs really grew on me. Only Daddy and Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way in particular.
He was always one of my favorites....a couple songs that quickly come to mind are Rose In Paradise and A Good Hearted Woman (with Willie Nelson)
Gotta look up Rose;don't know it.
It is from his Hangin Tough album, mid 1990's I think.
I was ridin' Number Nine,
Headin' south from Caroline.
I heard that lonesome whistle blow.
Got in trouble, had to roam,
Left my gal an' left my home.
I heard that lonesome whistle blow.
Just a kid, actin' smart,
I went and broke my darling's heart,
I guess I was too young to know.
They took me off the Georgia Main,
Locked me to a ball and chain.
I heard that lonesome whistle blow.
All alone I bear the shame,
I'm a number, not a name.
I heard that lonesome whistle blow.
All I do is set an' cry
When the evenin' train goes by.
I heard that lonesome whistle blow.
I'll be locked here in this cell
Till my body's just a shell
An' my hair turns whiter than snow.
I'll never see that gal of mine.
Lord, I'm in Georgia doin' time.
I heard that lonesome whistle blow.
I'm listening to Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.
some very very lively African music
i have no idea where it's from, what type of music it is or what the song's about, but it's making me want to jump up and down
seems to be some accordion in there
call and response format
great freefrom drumming now
this is great stuff
song called Salaam-A - apparently they're singing hello hello, good day
a c.d. from Madagascar, produced by a Canadian environmental engineer who was working in Madagascar and fell in love with the folk music (i'm sorta, badly, transcribing what they're talking about on the radio)
nice stuff y'all.
William who does that tune?
Wilco - A ghost is born
Good mood music for a Sturday morning.
I think its a Hank Williams song but i was listening to the Johnny Cash version
Hey right now im playing Westlife Greatest Hits
Sittin' in the mornin sun
I'll be sittin when the evenin' come
Watchin the ships roll in
Then I watch 'em roll away again
I'm sittin on the dock of the bay
watchin the time roll away
I'm just sittin on the dock of the bay
Wastin' time
Listening to Lowride by Autechre.
and reeellaxxing...
"If You Know What I Mean" (Neil Diamond)
Do you?
Playing a "forgotten cd" one of those that I just hadn't pulled out in ages and I'm totally grooving on Procul Harum's A Salty Dog and it's great. every style--love the blues of Juicy John Pink and the anthemic stuff in Wreck of the Hesperus. yow.
