Steve Earle! What a guy.

Panzade~ I didn't like Sweethearts when it came out. I wasn't ready for the rock/country thing yet. I have since fallen in love with Gram Parsons, mainly thanks to Emmylou Harris.

Saturday Night Blues on the CBC

Holger's featuring the 18th Annual Women's Blues Revue in the first hour. I've heard parts of the show already. It was amazing.

Sue Foley doing a cover of Memphis Minnie's I'm a Bad Luck Woman always throws me back in my chair.

oh, just saw that Pan was listening to some Lenny Breau. He was an amazing talent, wasn't he.

"Sacrifice" - Lisa Gerarrd; Pieter Bourke. This is the soundtrack from the movie "The Insider" It's a very slow, soft piece. It's hauntingly beautiful.

There was another Parsons,Gene who was in the Byrds. He put out an album called Kindling(out of print) that is fabulous. He does a great version of Lowell George's"Willing" with just guitar, accordion and harmonica.

Vo kuch

Ghazal
Music: Kiran Ahluwalia
Lyrics: Tahira Masood

Lyrics:
Vo kuch aise man main samae hua hain
Vo aisai khayalon main chhai hua hain

Muhabbat main hum yun akele challe hain
Unhe is tapish say bachaye huai hain

Suna hai rakeebon say un ban hai unki
Umeedon ki shamma jalaye hua hain

Nahin Tahira kuch zamane say shikwa
Yeh gham khud khushi say uthai huai hain

Translation:
He has completely gripped my emotions
as if taken hold of my thoughts.

On the path of love I tread alone
so I can save him the anguish.

Rumour has it that he has fallen out with my rivals.
This has brightened my light of hope.

Tahira why should I complain against the world
when I can myself bear this grief happily.

Translated by Professor Saleem Qureshi

I am totally doin' the headshake and shimmyshimmyshakeshake with this.
