Is it possible to listen to AM/FM radio stations on a computer? How about record broadcasts?
I would like to listen to some local stations while working on the computer.
Thanks.
Robert
I listen to "www.spinner.com", but I'm sure there are many variations out there.
Misti,
spinner is online streams if I am not mistaken.
Robert,
If you want AM/FM broadcasts and not online streaming "radio" you will need to buy a reciever for yout computer.
Most computers (in fact I know of none for which this is not true) do not come with a receiver but I've seen some computers with a receiver attachment.
I know when I try to listen to radio stations on my computer, it makes my computer run terrible, so I gave up.
I'm still building my crystal radio set.
So, what is this 'Internet' thingee Craven?
It's a medium for pornography Placid. I'd like to see it one day..
Not only FM but TV ..... all in stereo.
No drag on your system as with streaming.

i had a hauppauge wintv with fm radio. i never used the radio. only used it for tv.
i prefer streaming radio. it's commercial free and clear reception. hardly any drag on your system.
If you have cable or sattelite you can hook up to those feeds and record, depending on your set up, any broadcast from those sources, then burn to cd or dvd. Takes a heathy size hard drive though.

If you have dial-up it's not as easy, but it can be done. You may not get your favorite station, though.
I listen occasionally, but I'm more apt to put a CD in my M drive and listen that.
