I want to use my SpeedDisk disk optimization program, but when I go to run it, a warning sign pops up that says:
Quote:Current operating system: NT 5 Service Pack 4
Warning! This version of Speed Disk has not been tested with the service pack that is installed on your computer. You should run LiveUpdate to see if an updated version of Speed Disk is available.
Supported Operating Systems:
NT 5 Service Pack 6
NT 5 Service Pack 0
NT 5 Service Pack 1
NT 5 Service Pack 2
NT 5 Service Pack 3
What should I do? Sorry, I know this is a pretty basic q.
Run Live Update (the thingie that updates the virus definitions).
If it has an update for SpeedDisk then you are in luck, if not you'll have to wait till it come out or risk it.
I have, it doesn't. Which would you do? Risk it or wait? I have a goback Q. If it f's my computer up, I could revert to before the attempt - that is if the goback is running right....
You could try looking around on Symantec's website to see if whatever particular version of SpeedDisk you're running works with Win2000 Service Pack 4. Or you could buy the latest version of Norton SystemWorks, which will definitely support it just fine.
Personally, I'd do the search I mentioned, but if I turned up a "no" or no info, I'd just switch to running the defragmenter that comes with Windows instead.
