Thank-you. Hope you're enjoying the day too.
And to all my fellow Canucks. A very merry day to you all.
It's a scorcher here, I've already got my burn on. Smile

@Ceili,
http://eastyorkcanadaday.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/veterns2.jpg

one of the fellas from the Ulster Accordion Band waited with Set, Bailey and me on the church steps til his band got to our corner. He thought he'd let the younger guys walk most of the route before he joined in the East York Canada Day Parade.

Not as many bands as usual this year but lots of vintage cruisers. I've got to upload the photos. Lots of fun and flags!

Not as much heat/sun as Ceili's getting today. We got the sun yesterday while I was out at Bellydancers with Pride.

@joefromchicago,
Happy Canada Day from across the ocean as well!

I took a photo copied a pic from today's parade here the 1966 parade in our district town

These are from 1967, in a different town in our district

Back from the community Canada Day party where we indulged in a shared container of that Canajun classic - poutine.

Delish. The lady loaded the container up with artery-clogging beef gravy and cheese (no curds so it wasn't completely authentic).

I think man and dog will be sleeping off the walk/poutine/walk.

just back from the new Serbian bakery at the corner

got myself a nice sour cherry burek for my Canada Day evening celebration treat

the bakery is very new to the neighbourhood - they didn't realize til I told them that the parade goes right past their door. I don't think they're going to have enough treats to sell to the people that will be sitting on their steps

@ehBeth,
Canada Day AGAIN?

How many do you have, as it only seems like two or three months ago since the last.

Does the Queen know about this?
