People in LA are knee deep in…oil??

Early this morning a pipe burst, spraying Los Angeles and neighboring towns with 10,000 gallons of crude oil -- some spots up to several feet high! http://n.pr/1jiBLce

We’re gathering signatures to tell Congress we’ve had enough with dangerous, dirty energy. It’s time to transition to clean, renewable energy. Will you add your name? http://wefb.it/uFHhiJ

@RexRed,
It's the management of the transportation you should be protesting about. Which is driven by consumer demands for gas cheaper than it ought to be.

Consumers overwhelming back green energy so your point is rather moot.

ABC News/Washington Post Poll
"Which of the following approaches to solving the nation's energy problems do you think the U.S. should follow right now: emphasize production of more oil, gas and coal supplies, or emphasize the development of alternative energy such as wind and solar power?"

3/7-10/13

Oil, coal and gas 31%
Alternative energy 59%

There is no way to "mange" these rails over such expanses safely.

The only alternative is to build more puncture resistant rail cars and err, pass the cost off to consumers... And will that ultimately deliver the cheap energy Americans want? No.

It does not even address the CO2 and other toxic byproducts and the cost to the environment that the tax payers will have to also fork out.

SIGN AND SHARE the petition to the EPA—stand firm and pass the proposed new rules on carbon pollution from power plants: http://wefb.it/66195A
The Environmental Protection Agency is taking public comments on the proposed rules. Let's urge President Obama and the EPA to stand firm.

You're just trying to pretend you are not the problem Rex. Whilst basking, wallowing even, in the joys.

You need a cave and a diet of seaweed before I will grant you integrity.

@spendius,
Some things are renewable and some things IF we plunder them they are gone forever.

I am a conservative, a true conservative, not like these sell out GOP politicians.

As I have said before liberals are the only true conservatives today.

Even libertarians would rather see a man, Cliven Bundy, deface a federally owned reserve with his cattle rather than make restitution with the American people.

I say "American people" because the U.S. Federal Government IS the American people! That was at least before the GOP and their gerrymandering corporate masters bought off a few supreme court judges.

These Federal Reserves are part of the conservationist ideal of preserving the future while innovating with technology and science (both fields liberals dominate in) to preserve these resources that once they perish so do we.

You don't hear the GOP screaming about the need for more R&D and innovative technologies so we can free ourselves from using fossil fuels that took millions of years to form. They are also destroying the public education system with crazy religion. They call this science research and innovation, "regulations"...

Capitalism and the free market, smaller government that the GOP touts these are instruments where the wealthy can continue to profiteer from the destruction of irreplaceable natural resources.

Now that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed safeguards against carbon pollution, fossil fuel billionaires are mobilizing like never before - they're scared that cleaning up their own mess might cut into their profits. Don't let big polluters get the last word!

LIKE, SHARE, and TAKE ACTION to make sure President Barack Obama knows America supports strong climate safeguards --> http://sc.org/CarbonPollution1
