The simplicity of this concept is beautiful. This 1,000 miles of solar canals could light up the entire region and reduce water loss!

READ and SHARE India's plan to cover open canals with solar panels. http://on.fb.me/1irqM0y

@RexRed,

Of course. Human numbers is the problem and the demands they are encouraged to make by those who benefit from satisfying them.

Promising a herd of two-legged animals (see Darwin), with prehensile forepaws and foxed underbreeches, "manifest destiny" is pork galore for those selling and attempting to deliver it.

Human beings are dirty Rex. By suggesting you can make them "clean" is assisting them to evade the real issue and doing it to pose as a saviour and all-round good bloke is hypocritical. They will become "clean" when they have no other choice, as Spiro Agnew said.

It is not human numbers at all it is dirty energy buying our electorate in order to keep up their dirty polluting $ bottom line.

Green energy can satisfy all energy needs...

I also don't think that generally people are innately dirty.

ANTI-NUKE ENVIRONMENTALISTS Key of D, Start on A
Tune: She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain
Sunny Armer, NYC Metro Raging Grannies and Their Daughters

Call us anti-nuke environmentalists.
We are anti-nuke environmentalists.
We protect our air and water,
You can’t lead us to the slaughter,
‘Cause we’re anti-nuke environmentalists.
We know tons of facts regarding nuclear waste.
When it leaks into our water there’s no taste,
But it’s poison all the same.
Not to worry! they explain,
So we’re anti-nuke environmentalists.
There are twenty tons of new waste every year,
All created by the nuclear plants, we fear.
You can swear on our own Bible
That it’s "safe, secure, and vital,"
But we’re sure not gonna swallow what we hear.
Chernobyl and Japa-an give us qualms.
You’re a target for those terrorists with bombs.
There’s no anti-nuke insurance,
Which means there’s no assurance
That we will not all be blown to Kingdom Come.
Bring us solar, bring us hydro, bring us wind.
Bring us energy from sources that won’t end.
But before we trust uranium,
We’d need holes in our cranium.
Call us anti-nuke environmentalists.

@georgeob1,
Once again George is wrong...

3. Fukushima Nuclear Disaster Worse than Anticipated

Developing evidence from a number of independent sources suggests that the negative consequences of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster are far greater than first acknowledged or understood. An estimated 14,000 excess deaths in the United States are linked to the radioactive fallout in Japan, according to a December 2011 report published in the International Journal of Health Services. Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency’s radiation-detection network (RadNet) has serious drawbacks, including a lack of maintenance and equipment that is often improperly calibrated.

A message to George from Peter:

(George) Please come to Japan (where I live) and enjoy a delicious cesium contaminated meal of rice, fruit, vegetables and sea food compliments of this “safe technology”.
