Even the researchers performing the studies know they're useless.

Study: Video Games Linked To Reckless Driving

Quote:
A new study suggests video games that involve reckless driving may play out in real life. Researchers say their data should not be taken lightly since car accidents are the number one cause of death for teenagers.

...

The findings do not directly link playing video games to reckless driving. They only show an association. Researchers say the impact of playing games like "Grand Theft Auto" is minimal.

In other words... people who drive recklessly like video games that let them drive recklessly. This surprised someone?

I suppose the correlation could be useful if they only studied people who played driving games before they learned to drive real cars. but then they might also do studies on first person shooters.

However I'd really like to see what correlations a study of World of Warcraft players would come up with.
