called into petrol station for 1 gal of petrol the electric was of and pumps not working the attendant said i can give you exactly 1 gal as i have an 8 gal drum with 5gals in it and a 5gal drum with 3 gals in it and a 3gal drum with 2 gals in it ,
how did he manage to work this out

Pour 1gal from the 8gal drum into the 3gal drum to fill it up then pour 2 gal from the 3gal drum into the 5gal drum to fill it up leaving 1gal in the 3gal drum
