If I go:

click start
click run
click msconfig
click on startup

I now have a list, and there is one item I wish to delete permanently.

how do I remove that item from this list?

Click "Start" to bring up the Start Menu.

Right Click (one time!) on the listing you want removed and select "Remove From This List".

(This works for WinXP anyway. For future postsings - it helps greatly if you list what OS you are working with! Wink )
