I everyone. Firstly I'd like to say that i'm a new member and its great to be able to engage in philisophical discussion of all sorts Very Happy

This thread is for the purpose of posting original or otherwise poems of an existential nature. That is, anecdotal, experiencial, profoundly plain (but not necessarily) and often times drudging.

Here is one that I compiled this morning, inspired by the band Bright Eyes and named after one of their albums:

I'm Wide Awake, Its Morning

im eating cereal, some yogurt and just one, piece of toast
hearing pure inspirational music on this cold laptop, but its warm
i have another date with the Man today, her name is Susan, i think
maybe she'll like me and make me a lego piece of everything i hate

my mother seems content but shes not nearly as happy as she could be
she has the best life she's ever had, but remembers her happiest still
its gray today, i love it, i live as everything else but me
if this water wasnt capitalized, it'd give me perfect harmony

im scared for what i make of my time hereafter
but i'l do it with a hammer and get all sorts of money
its the way She pissed me off that led to all of this morning
i can't give you three solid reasons why i like her, let alone love

the birds chirping seems to tell of so much purpose, for them
while we the intelligent make **** up then say "that cant be"
i see objects, all kinds, not one of them for a family game
my makeshift Utopia will unfold when my brother comes this way, finally

@nietzschedude,
untitled

Cat - scratching chin
in contemplation
of location
to nest
and rest
hung up vest,
taking off boots
recalling day's fruits -
he manifests truths
yawning now
and laying down
ears flicker at sound
noise of fallacies
as cat now sees
what we believe -
to paraquote Camus
those cat's truths
won't be ours' too

@mister kitten,
You can hear their lyrical style in your words, I like the poem more now I have heard 'Bright Eyes' music.
